Mary Wiley is Executive Director of Niagara Connects – a Niagara-wide network of people who collaborate to plan, learn, innovate and lead community action toward a stronger future for Niagara.
The Niagara Connects team engages diverse Niagara partners to describe community assets, and gather and share data and knowledge for the purpose of focused planning for improved quality of life. The Niagara Connects team of Knowledge Brokers facilitates data and knowledge-sharing tools, built by the community for the community, including: the Living in Niagara report, (www.livinginniagarareport.com) a triennial snapshot of quality of life across 12 Sectors that align with the Social Indicators of Health; and the Niagara Knowledge Exchange (niagaraknowledgeexchange.com) an online platform for real-time exchange of relevant, reliable, Niagara-focused evidence.
Mary studied Family and Consumer studies at the University of Guelph. Prior to joining Niagara Connects, she worked provincially and nationally in the agri-food industry, focusing on knowledge transfer and marketing communications in the areas of: informed decision-making for healthy lifestyles; business and value chain development; environmental stewardship; and organization leadership. Mary and her family are part of a 7th-generation wine grape growing business in west St. Catharines.
