He has been a web editor, tech evangelist and trainer, columnist and open data reporter. A veteran daily journalist, Bill has deep and broad experience in investigations, beat reporting and news column writing. He’s been a change agent, leading newsroom transformation from a print to digital culture. He launched and ran WebU, managing 29 teachers and 500 students brought together in a year-long web and digital tech training center for a large media group. He was part of a small cross-company team that built and installed a new web-focused Content Management System (NewsGate) across the Torstar chain dailies.
